MOJO Monday 481

Julee's sketch is beautifully clean simple and perfect for any occasion cards. This time of year I happen to adore making Valentine's cards and I've used one of my all time favorite stamps for this. Verve's  2011  VD - VSPJ-0072. I've also used Spellbinder's heart and rectangle dies and Sizzlits large scallop circle insert die.

Paper Ornament

Paper Ornament using the Stampin' Up!
Gift Bow Bigz L Die by Sizzix

S
uplies needed:
Paper/card stock in two different colors, wire, wire cutter, pliers,
paper trimmer or scissors, 1/8" hole punch,  tape,
four or more beads (2 big, 2 small)
circle punches for two 1" circles and  two 1/2" circles

I started by die cutting two each of the bow part
from the Bigz die.

With a paper trimmer or scissors- cut the supporting color (white) down
to an inch and a half and mark to punch holes (about 1/8" from ends) for wire and beads.

Cut a 6 inch length of 26 or so gauge bead wire and use
the pilers to make a lope at end to secure the bead.
Also, make a 2" long tube/straw out of paper to support the strips.

Also die cut or punch two 1/2" circles and
two 1" circles and punch 1/8" hole in center

Add the smallest bead to wire, the larger bead and
one of the 1/2" circles.

Aline strips in this pattern and add them onto
your wire in the order seen here.

After the strips are loaded onto the wire add
a larger circle (1") and the tube/straw and
the second 1" circle at top end of the tube.

Start adding the thinner white strips first onto the wire.
Add the ends that are across from each other.

(YOU MAY ADD GLUE IF YOU LIKE TO SECURE THE STRIPS)
Add the red strips in the same X formation (the ends across from each other)
then add the last 1/2" circle, the larger bead and the smaller. Make a loop in the wire to secure the bead and use remaining wire for the hook if you like.

I HOPE YOU WILL TRY THIS! It's addicting and FUN!

IF SOMEONE HAS ALREADY COME UP WITH THIS DESIGN FROM THE BOW DIE, PLEASE SHARE TECHNIQUE WITH ME.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

THINK SPRING!

Mojo Monday 440

This wonderful sketch has SPRING written all over it! So here I am with Dogwoods. It's almost time for those beauties to bloom here in New England. (maybe)

I've used the Verve sentiment from the Egg-stra Special set. The stitched circles are Lil' Inker, the flowers are Elizabeth 'bunch of flowers 4' die plate, the branch is Momenta and the background strip is Martha Stewart's lattice border punch and gingham designer paper
.

Merry Christmas Ornament!

Mojo Monday 423

This is one festive sketch and I wanted to take full advantage to use one of my favorite Verve "Ornament Christmas sets. The designer paper is by Anna Griffin and the embossed background is by lifestyle Crafts  embossing  folder and die cut panel using Spellbinders majestic Marvelous Squares. The Ornament was stamped onto a red holiday gift box and heat embossed with gold powder. Then set onto a vellum square with the decorative swirl stamp from the set w-08-042.

Foxy Fall

It's starting already here... the changing of the leaves! I'm so not ready for winter but who can resist all the wonderful colors of autumn. So I've stamped the WPlus9 leaves in distress inks fired brick, wild honey, vintage photo and crushed olive. The cute little fox and sentiment are by lawn fawn, and where colored with copics in E09 burnt sienna and E33 sand and fussy cut.

Gratitude: SCS Sketch Challenge #550

Today at Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #550 we were to choose a Sketch from the past and I chose SC539.
wanted to use some dies that I just purchased from my favorite stamp and scrap store that closed the doors last week. The only upside is that I might be able to save some money.

The bubble circles in the background represent the panel strip from the sketch. Everything else is just thrown in for decoration. I die cut the rose with Tim Holtz tattered pinecone Bigz die and punched the flowers from yellow mulberry paper, stained the edges with distress inks in fired brick and abandoned coral and a spritz of water.

Supplies used: Lil' Inker stitched circle, memory box Pierson Corner and Leaves dies, Elizabeth 1028-Circles die, Martha Stewart hydrangea punch, Magenta stencil and TH textured paste.
